Be part of the process
As a parent you want to be supportive and see your student athlete achieve great results and develop character that you are proud of. You know that youth sports develop skills and as they move to higher performing teams that the mental side of the game is increasingly important.
Because these intangible skills are vague and undefined it makes it difficult for a parent to be informed, included and involved in the right way.
We have good news for you.
Our behavioral psychologists have worked on this and have provided the language for you use with your athlete and their coach. We have seen this work in many parenting styles so are not asking you to change anything.
The GritABC™ System provides a safe environment to have a conversation. ABC stands for Attitude, Behavior and Character. We break this down into 5 core skills can easily be understood and improved in a safe and positive way.
Conscientious Grit
Emotional Grit
Relational Grit
Social/Energy Grit
Openness Grit
These GritABC™ skills are as important to life, education, work, and family as they are to sports. All we are asking is that you commit to this and trust process. Along the way we will be diligent to include you and provide information and share GritABC™ tips.
